Smart trolleys.
Seamless journeys.

Heegan supplies stainless-steel baggage trolleys built for constant terminal use — and a Trolley Management System that tells you exactly where every one of them is. Fewer losses, lower running costs, and a trolley waiting for your passengers when they need one.

  • Grade 304 stainless steel
  • RFID & QR tracking ready
  • Maintenance included

What we do

Two halves of one solution

Reliable trolleys are only half the job. Knowing where they are — and getting them back to where passengers need them — is the other half. Heegan does both.

Two kerbside Heegan trolley bays at an airport entrance, each holding a long row of blue-panelled luggage trolleys inside a stainless steel guide rail, beneath overhead signs for Departures, Arrivals and Parking.

Trolleys

Airport luggage trolleys, heavy-duty baggage carts, retail trolleys, hotel bellman trolleys and hospital transfer units. Welded stainless steel, gravity brakes, and a full-width panel you can brand or sell as advertising space.

View the range
A Heegan trolley bay inside an airport terminal: around fifty nested stainless-steel luggage trolleys held in a stainless guide rail beneath a navy wall panel reading "Please return trolley here" and "50 trolleys", with departures signage and travellers in the background.

Trolley Management System

Tag every trolley, install readers at your bays, and watch your whole fleet on one dashboard. Low-stock alerts, redistribution routes, maintenance history and demand reports — so you stop guessing how many trolleys you really have.

How the system works

Why choose Heegan

Equipment that lasts, and data that pays for itself

Trolleys are a small line on a budget and a large part of a passenger's first impression. We treat them as infrastructure, not consumables.

Built to last

Grade 304 stainless frames and impact-resistant bumpers, specified for humid coastal air and thousands of hands a day. Equipment that lasts is cheaper than equipment that is cheap.

Smart tracking built in

Every trolley can carry an RFID or QR tag from day one, so you always know your real fleet size and where it is — not the number written down when you bought it.

Maintenance you do not manage

Our team inspects, repairs and cleans the fleet on a schedule. Faulty trolleys leave service before a passenger ever finds them.

Lower cost per journey

Fewer losses, fewer replacements and data-led collection rounds. Optional advertising panels on the fleet can offset the cost of running it entirely.

Trolley Management System

Stop counting trolleys. Start seeing them.

Most operators do not know their real fleet size — only the number they bought. The Heegan TMS replaces that guess with a live figure you can act on.

Explore the system
  • Real-time trolley tracking

Every trolley carries an RFID or QR tag. Readers at bays, doors and kerbs log each movement, so your fleet position is always current rather than a guess based on last week’s count.

  • Live fleet dashboard

One screen shows how many trolleys sit in each bay right now, which zones are running empty, and which are overflowing. No spreadsheets, no radio calls to check.

  • Collection & redistribution alerts

When a bay drops below its minimum, the system alerts your collection team and suggests the nearest bay with a surplus — so trolleys get moved before passengers notice a shortage.

  • Maintenance scheduling

Log a wobbling castor or a failed brake from a phone at the bay. The trolley is flagged, pulled from service, and scheduled for repair, with a full history kept per unit.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

The things procurement teams and operations managers ask us most often.

What types of trolleys does Heegan supply?

We supply airport luggage trolleys, heavy-duty baggage carts, retail and duty-free trolleys, hotel bellman trolleys and hospital transfer trolleys. Every model can be finished in your brand colours and fitted with an advertising panel.

Do I have to buy the trolleys to use the Trolley Management System?

No. The Trolley Management System works with trolleys you already own. We tag your existing fleet, install bay readers and bring everything onto one dashboard. Many clients start this way and replace ageing units gradually.

How does the Trolley Management System actually track a trolley?

Each trolley carries a durable RFID or QR tag. Readers installed at trolley bays, terminal doors and kerbside points log every trolley that passes, which keeps your live fleet position accurate without anyone counting by hand.

How long does installation take?

A single terminal is typically tagged, fitted with bay readers and live on the dashboard within two to four weeks, depending on the size of the fleet and site access. Installation is scheduled around your operations so flights and trading are never interrupted.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Our service contracts cover scheduled inspection, cleaning, castor and brake replacement, and same-week response for reported faults. Every repair is logged against the individual trolley, so you can see the full history of any unit.

Can we put our own branding on the trolleys?

Yes. The full-width front panel is designed for it. Most clients use it for their own airport or centre branding, and some sell it as advertising space — which, at a busy terminal, can offset a large share of the running cost of the fleet.
